Of all the heavenly bodies the sun has commanded the widest and greatest interest. In the accounts of the origin and descent of the gods, the Sun appears as the direct son and heart of the god of heaven, seeing all and knowing all. In Egyptian mythology, Ra was the sovereign lord of the sky, he was born each morning as a child, grew until midday and then declined to die each night as an old man.
The attributes of the sun are to promote good health, create confidence in one's abilities, and draw out the qualities of leadership, dominance and supremacy.
Sunday, the day ruled by the sun, should be used in preparation for a peaceful and fruitful week ahead.
Invocation to the sun, according to the magical treatise Agrusadapariksay,
"Thou art the Sun! Thou art the Eye of Brahma, the Eye of Vishnu, the Eye of Siva: In the morning, at noon, and at night. More precious than anything else, thou art a Jewel of Jewels, priceless watcher over all, hanging in the sky. This is thy power: fertilizer of life, yardstick of Time itself, of days, nights, weeks, years, seasons - all Time. Of all the planets thou art the leader, the most high. Destroyer of darkness, power extending over uncounted millions of miles, golden chariot of the universe, accept my adoration!"
Sunday is the best day for anything involving power, magic, health, success, career, goal, ambition and fun. It is linked to the Sun and the element of Fire.
